Biography
Doris Belshaw Harrison was born on 1 August 1902 at 4 Barrow Street, Wigan. She was the first daughter of Joseph Harrison, a plumber, and Sarah Ellen Belshaw. She lived with the family in various homes while she was growing up.
In 1932, Doris married Frederick William Goldthorpe, an insurance inspector from Leeds, who was living in Leeds at the time. Doris’ marriage certificate does not state her occupation.
