Research Notes

There were only two adults named Jane Ball buried at Upholland St. Thomas in the 18th century. The first, buried in 1798, was married (albeit to a Henry Ball) and was from Orrell. This Jane is most likely to be the widow of Henry Ball who died in 1756. This will be an easy matter to verify if her grave can be located in the churchyard. Jane would have been close to 80 years old at the time of her death.
