The British War Medal was awarded to British officers and men who either entered a theatre of war or entered service overseas during WW i. Roland’s medal documentation indicates that he was a member of the Lincolnshire Regiment, first division holding the rank of Lance Sargent.
The documentation also gives Roland’s 1927 address as the Sun LIfe Assurance Company, Montreal.
