Research Notes
It seems that Henry changed his mind about where he was from after talking to the census taker. Aughton is about 5 miles west of Skelmersdale. Son John Mawdsley does not appear in this census although he would have been 8 years old at the time. I have been unable to locate John in any 1851 census record and he remains a bit of a mystery.
