Research Notes
This census record registered the family of Martha Mason, future wife of Edward Harrison (b. 1855), also known as Edward Ball. Martha identified her father as John Mason, a shoemaker, on her marriage certificate. According to Edward Harrison’s census records his wife Martha was born in 1855 in Bolton; this Martha is of the right age and birthplace. In the 1881 census John and William Mason, ages 52 and 22, lived with Edward and Martha.
