Research Notes
We have not identified John Smith. There was no John Smith enumerated in Adlington in 1841 or 1851. We can speculate that he may have been one of Elizabeth’s sons-in-law. Given that she had been paralyzed by a stroke for two years she was likely living with a family member during that time.
