Research Notes

This census record shows Henry Harold Harrison (aka Harold) living with his father and stepmother at the Honeysuckle Inn on 31 March 1901. Given the time and location of the census and the names of the family members and Harold’s age there is complete certainty that this is the family of HHH Sr. This census confirms Henry’s marriage to Elizabeth prior to March 1901. The census confirms that Harold did indeed tend bar at the Honeysuckle as he told his daugher. It suggests that the Honeysuckle was a bustling business at this time employing two barmen and two servants. It also identifies John Harrison as a cousin of Henry Harrison; it is likely but not certain that John was the orphaned son of Henry’s brother Edward and therefore Henry’s nephew.
