Research Notes
Later census records put James Ball’s birth year at 1809. It is possible that this James died in childhood and Henry & Betty named their next son James. However a thorough review of the baptismal records at All Saints has only turned up one James Ball. Therefore it is assumed James as an adult did not know his exact age.
