Research Notes

We believe Henry Ball and Elizabeth Ormishaw baptized their children at Upholland St. Thomas until 1804 and at Wigan All Saints thereafter. Later records indicate that Elizabeth Ball (b. 1815) was their third daughter. Elizabeth was the first daughter baptized at Wigan All Saints. We therefore have concluded that Ellen and Margaret (b. 1804), baptized at Upholland, were Henry and Elizabeth’s first two daughters.
