This was the address of John Harrison (b. 1786) and Jemima Whittle (b. 1790), Henry Harold Harrison Sr.’s great-great grandparents, at the time of the 1851 census when the couple was in their 60s. Callendar Yard does not appear on any historical maps, and no longer exists. However from the census taker’s route we can deduce that Callendar Yard was off Wallgate near present day Rowbottom Square in Wigan town centre.
