Biography
Daniel Hewet was the father of Ellen Hewet according to the record of her baptism. At the time, he was living in Rainford, Lancs. in 1746, and his wife was named Mary. One of Ellen’s sons, and many of her grandsons and great grandsons, were named Daniel, almost certainly after Daniel Hewet.
Research Notes
There is an IGI record of a marriage between Daniel Hewet and Mary Cropper in Prescot in 1739. The record, which does not cite a source, indicates that David and Mary were both born c. 1719 in “Rainforth, Lansc” and both died c. 1790 in Prescot. Prescot is a few miles south of Rainford. While the record is interesting, more research is needed (beginning with finding the source of this information) in order to confirm that these two people were indeed the parents of Ellen.
