Research Notes

Note the striking similarity between Ann Barton’s marriage certificate entry and that of her daughter Alice 24 years later (at the same church and married by the same minister!): Alice Barton, Age 22, Spinster, no profession, residing at Princess Street, Daughter of Edward Barton, Iron Moulder This is one of several links confirming that Edward and Ann were indeed the parents of Alice.
