Research Notes
We can be certain that this is the death certificate of Henry Harold’s great grandfather because of the match with the 1861 census. That census shows Henry Ball, a farmer age 84 living at Blundles Fold with his son James. It was very rare at that time for people to live to this age and there certainly were not two 86-year-old Henry Balls living in Blackrod in 1863.
