Ada Louisa Lowe, the future wife of John Harrison (b. 1873) grew up at 8 Wignall Street in Poolstock. Her parents, John and Mary Ann, moved there in the 1880s when Ada Louisa was still a child. They were living at this address at the time of both the 1891 and 1901 census. Ada Louisa was still living at this home when she married John Harrison in August 1903. John lived just three blocks away at 92 Pool Street, and the couple married in nearby St. James Church.
Wignall was one of about 20 streets that comprised the Poolstock neighbourhood during the second half of the 19th century. It ran south from Corporation Street about midway beween Pool Street and Poolstock. Wignall Street disappeared when the neighbourhood was redeveloped sometime during the 20th century.
