14 Mason Street was the home of Thomas Thompson and Annie Barton and their children during the period 1912 (or earlier) to 1920. Annie’s mother, Ann Barton, lived nearby at 6 Mason Street where she died in November 1912. Annie gave her address as 14 Mason Street when she registered the death. Annie herself died at 14 Mason Street in December 1920.
There is a contemporary Mason Street directly north of Wigan Pier, running north and east off Wallgate; the same or a similar street appears on the 1908 ordinance survey map for Wigan (West).
