Biography
Jane Harrison was born on 8 September 1878 at 24 Peet Street, Poolstock. Jane was the first daughter of Edward Harrison and Martha Mason who had married two years before in 1876. It is not known why Edward and Martha named their first child Jane; it was customary at the time (although not obligatory) to name children after their grandparents, but neither Edward nor Martha had any known family members named Jane.
Circa 1880, baby Jane moved with her parents to 322 Warrington Road in Ince, perhaps 2 km from Poolstock. It was on Warrington Road that Jane contracted meningitis and died on 15 January 1882 at age 3. It has not been discovered where Jane was buried.
